Professor Jim Williams

Professor Jim WIlliams

Jim Williams has been a Professor of Physics for more than 20 years.

"Aspects of my personal and scientific life prior to 1998 have been recorded for the Australian National Library but you will have to wait for some years to enjoy the details.

"Meanwhile PhD (ANU 1965), DSc (ANU 1982 and WA 2003), FAA, Fellow of the Institute of Physics (Australia, UK and USA etc!) indicate commitment, motivation, a great laboratory and a continuing search for solutions to many questions in quantum physics.

"This fortunate life has been enabled by many equally-motivated students, postdoctoral researchers and colleagues in many countries.

"A happy and optimistic outlook is searching for more goal-seeking colleagues to solve problems of correlated motion of electrons in atoms, molecules and nano-technologically important surfaces and condensed matter.

"I don't have heroes: it is the knowledge and what you can do with science that is important."
