UWA provides you with a wide range of resources.
Some resources are specific to the school or faculty where research is undertaken.
Other resources are available to all research students through the Graduate Research and Scholarships Office or other central sources at the University such as the UWA Library, Student Services, Research Services, and Organisational and Staff Development Services.
You can also access a range of external resources.
Postgraduate Almanac 2009
Some of the information in these pages is available in the Postgraduate Almanac 2009. The Almanac is a directory of resources and information for postgraduate students. It is designed for coursework and research students and covers a diverse range of topics including what is expected of them and what resources are available to them. The Almanac is provided to research candidates at the Postgraduate Welcome.

- Australasian Digital Thesis Program is a database of theses produced by Australian students.
- ProQuest is a collection of dissertations and theses, available via UWA Library.
- PhdData.org contains a database of doctoral dissertations in progress around the world.
- Google Scholar is a search facility for publications.
- Society of Editors (WA) provide a register of freelance editors based in Western Australia.
- Student Services has many useful materials available for loan.
- Online lectures from UWA are available.
- Scholars' Centre provides services and facilities for research students.
- MyLanguage provides access to search engines, web directories and news in over sixty languages.
- UWA Library Researchers' Gateway offers tips on conducting research.

- EndNote Training is referencing software that enables you to create a database of references from your readings.
- Teaching Internships allow promising doctoral research students to develop teaching skills.
- Vitae provides material on development of research skills, such as "The Balanced Researcher".
- Open Access to Knowledge (OAK) Law Project is an Australian website dealing with the issue of copyright.
- Statistics clinic provides a free statistical advice service for master's and PhD students.
- Safety and health courses includes chemical, laboratory and radiation safety.
- Staff development workshops and seminars are available to research students if space permits.
- Institute for Advanced Studies public lecture series offers free lectures on a wide variety of topics.
