Graduate Research School

Permanent binding

Further information

Binding

School pays for:

  • production of the school and library copies
  • materials and labour to permanently bind the school and library copies.

You pay for:

  • producing your personal copy.

After your thesis has passed examination, you submit copies for permanent binding.

Most students lodge three copies for permanent binding, but you only need to lodge two if you don't want your own copy bound. You should liaise with your school about additional copies for supervisors.

Prepare final copies

Make any corrections to your thesis by replacing printed pages, or by reprinting entire copies.

  • Remember to separate each copy with coloured paper.
  • Copies should be unbound.

Prepare form and revisions report

Complete the details of the Certification of Corrections form and obtain the appropriate signatures. You need to complete this form even if you have received a straight pass.

You may be asked to write a report of thesis revisions when your thesis is returned after examination.

Copies return to school

The office forwards thesis for permanent binding to the UWA Library. The library takes about six weeks to bind the copies, and returns them directly to your school.
